Visit to Britain on View 2008

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the preview of the Britain on View photographic exhibition at the OXO tower on London's south bank near Waterloo station. The breathtaking photographs of stunning British landscapes from places as diverse as rural Dorset, the Cornish Coast, Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland and the mountains of Glencoe in Scotland reaffirmed in my mind what a lucky bunch we British are, and how lucky I am to spend so much time in such a special outdoor environment.

The exhibition is free to enter and runs until March 9th. I would wholeheartedly encourage you to attend. The gallery@OXO is a great venue and you have the added bonus of walking out of a room full of stunning rural landscapes to a view of one of the world's great city skylines.

David Noton's stunning picture at the top of the blog is part of the collection. Log on to http://www.britainonview.com and type reference number DN77106284 into the search box and see a much clearer version. But to see it at its very best go to the OXO where it and many others are printed at very high res on very large canvases - get yourselves down there.
