Exmoor once again!
A final piece of fine tuning of our Exmoor 'self-guided' itinerary yesterday so another visit to one of our favourite areas.
School holidays, so an opportunity for our daughters Heather and Rebecca to get a day's walking too.
Yesterday's route was the stunningly beautiful stretch of the river Barle between Simonsbath and the village of Withypool. The sun was out and the temperature was just right. The primroses are abundant, the bluebells are out in the shelter of the woods and there are new-born lambs in the meadows - perfect. Rounded the trip off with excellent soup and bread and real tea (strainer supplied!) at Boeves Tearoom in Simonsbath.

Your daughters are beautiful!
NZ Auntie.
They took a lot of persuading to get into those lamb costumes. It was worth it though, the first time they ever followed without argument!
