A sunny weekend on the West Wiltshire Downs.Saturday saw us walk from the Westbury White Horse to Heytesbury across the magnificent chalk downland above the Wylye Valley. Great views were had from Battlesbury Hill, Scratchbury Hill, Middle Hill and Cotley Hill. The cowslips were just beginning to show.
Sunday's walk started in Chicklade and took us through Great Ridge Woods, which were carpeted by bluebells. An idyllic descent through light woodlands took us to lonely Park Bottom and the walk finished at the unspoilt and picturesque village of Sherrington.
The weekend was rounded off with Sunday lunch at the Angel Coaching Inn
