Pennine Way - the Beginning of the End!!!

Yesterday the first of our groups of intrepid Pennine Way hikers set out on the final leg of their journey. The northern end of the Way is wild and remote, so the stages are tough, but the end is in sight!

This particular group of walkers walked the central section last year and were subjected to merciless torrential rain for a week, culminating in a retreat from Maize Beck which was impassable.

Yesterday the weather gods smiled and the group completed the classic walk from Langdon Beck over High Cup Nick to Dufton in fine style and are now back on track. Today the group will reach the highest point of the route, Cross Fell. Best of luck to all and fingers crossed that the weather holds.

Anyone out there fancy the challenge? We still have spaces left for all three sections - click on the title to reach the web page!
