It's cold out there, but the countryside looks fantastic. It has been a refreshing change to have a real winter season - it will be good for the rural ecology.
The sparkling frosts have certainly made country walks a pleasure with shimmering white trees and firm underfoot conditions. There's nothing quite like wrapping up warm, walking up the hill and taking in the spectacular views, and then returning home for a mug of hot chocolate by the fire (or alternatively end up by the fire in the pub for a glass of mulled wine).
It's supposed to warm up next week, so let's make the most of it.
